If we are reroofing your house, the following information could be very useful to you.
First of all we want to thank you for the opportunity to work for you on this project. If you are like many of our customers, this is probably your first experience with reroofing, and you are wondering what to expect. The most important point to be aware of is: that there is no way we can reroof your home without creating some inconvenience and disrupting normal routine. The following items are offered to prevent misunderstanding and irritation after the job starts.
ITEM ONE: TREES AND BUSHES
If you have low hanging branches over your roof, some trimming will be necessary. Our crews will cut back only those branches which limit their ability to do an efficient, workman-like job. In some cases, especially if the shape of the tree is important, you may prefer to have the tree trimmed before the job begins.
ITEM TWO: LIGHT FIXTURES, PICTURES, MIRRORS
These could fall if not firmly attached to walls or ceilings. We suggest you check all light fixtures, pictures, and mirrors to make sure they are secure. If in doubt, take them down. We will not assume responsibility for damage to these items as a result of reroofing.
ITEM THREE: TEAR-OFF
When it is necessary to remove your existing roofing, some debris and/or asphalt may fall through the sheeting boards. We suggest covering or removing any items which require protection. We will clean up the heave debris and leave the site broom clean when we have completed our work. The detail cleaning inside the building is the responsibility of the homeowner.
ITEM FOUR: ACCESS
Your contract price was computed utilizing driveways, walkways, and/or side access yards for trucks and equipment while work is being performed. If this is not acceptable, please notify us immediately so that an adjustment in your contract price may be made for additional labor costs.
ITEM FIVE:SOLAR PANELS
Arrangements to remove and replace solar panels are the responsibility of the owner unless otherwise stated.
ITEM SIX: PAINTING
Often times during reroofing, especially with the installation of additional insulation, an added fascia or trim board is required. Also, new metals used in flashing and/or counterflashings will be added as necessary. These will not be painted unless otherwise stated in contract.
ITEM SEVEN:EXCESS MATERIALS
Our proposals are based on a complete job. Often extra materials are sent to the site from our warehouse stock to assure that the crews have enough materials to complete the job. This is done in the event that some of the materials are damaged in transit. For this reason any apparent surplus materials will remain the property of Ace Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc.
